First Wok
About This Spot
Stepping into First Wok on Main Street in Keokuk feels like finding a quiet corner spot where the day slows just enough to savor each moment. The pace here is easygoing, a gentle hum of friendly chatter and the soft clatter of dishes that somehow puts you at ease. It’s the kind of place where takeout orders come with a little extra care, and those familiar menu choices bring a comforting sense of routine, without any rush.
Behind the counter, a warm welcome awaits, and the sights and aromas hint at home-cooked flavors balancing tradition with approachable flair. Whether it’s the satisfying crisp of a crab rangoon or the gentle kick of sesame chicken, each bite carries the kind of familiarity that makes First Wok more than just a convenient meal — it’s a quiet touchstone on a hectic day. Portion sizes invite you to think of lunch as an extended experience, with enough to tuck away for a later moment of comfort.
The atmosphere doesn’t lean into flashiness or trendiness, but celebrates a practical, neighborhood charm. It’s a spot chosen not just for what’s on the plate but for the simple, human moments shared when a weekday meal becomes a reliable pause — some well-earned pleasure in the rhythm of daily life. Prepare to bring cash along, as the place keeps things old-fashioned in that regard, a small reminder of slower days and grounded routines.

After another long, hot Monday takeout was perfect. Everything we ordered was fantastic.

Mongolian beef is good, but way to many onions. More onions then beef. Chicken cashew really good.

The sesame chicken lunch combo was really good. It was enough for two meals, personally. Just keep in mind, they accept cash only :)

Food was delicious. Ordered a variety. Large portions. Reasonable prices. Only drawback was they only take cash or check no debit or credit cards. Had to go to the ATM for cash. Friendly employee
